I'm sitting here watching my beautiful little baby sleeping peacefully. She's just had her first bath since her operation, her painful chest drains were removed and sutured yesterday, today she's had all remaining attachments removed so all she has now is her hospital nametag. Her bed has fresh sheets from home and she's wearing a cute clean babygro with a little pink duck, she's had a cozy feed so what more could a baby ask?
On Monday when the cardiologist came around he said he was surprised to find her settled in the ward, he had been expecting her to be still in ICU!
So far there have been no setbacks at all-Louise's bloods, x-rays, sats, wounds etc are all behaving themselves so when the cardiologist came around yesterday he said he could see no reason for her not to go home on Thursday or at the latest Friday!! I couldn't believe my ears!
So this week looks like it's drawing to a close…it's been like a dream full of every imaginable emotion. It's been heady, intimate, weepy and anxious but you know…I wouldn't have changed it for the world!!

ReplyDeleteGreat news! She looks so cute and peaceful there it’s hard to imagine what she has been through. Loved the comment that she’ll be able to read this blog in years to come – a bit mind boggling, isn’t it? Keeping her and you both in mind all the time. Much love.
