A Big Sister's Thoughts.

27th March 2010

This is Miriam,  Louise's big sister.  What a week!! On Sunday night,  Rebecca, Nana, Grandad and I went to see Louise in Crumlin. We were just back from England where we were at a wedding so we hadn't seen her yet.   At the end of the corridor there was a little room. We knocked on the door and went in. Mum was sitting on the chair and Louise was lying in her small little cot.  I walked over to see her.  I picked her up.  She was so small.  I sat down in the chair and looked at her.  I'm  so happy she's here! We all took turns to hold her.  After about half an hour, we had to go.  When we went back to school on Monday, everyone was asking about her.  I was so happy telling everyone about her.  At home-time,  instead of Mum or Dad there, our Nana was there.  When we got home our Dad was there.  He said Mum and Louise might come home today.  A bit later on, Dad got a text from Mum. They were coming home!!! Rebecca wasn't home yet so he couldn't go until she was home.  When she arrived in, she said "When's Mum and Louise coming home?" Laura said "........TODAY!!!"  Our Dad went off to get them.  A little while later I got a text from Mum and it said they'll be home in about 15-20 minutes. Then another one came. It  said they were at the big ball (near Smyths) All of us went crazy!!  We waited at the big window.  When we saw the car coming up the hill, nearly everyone started to scream!  When the drove into the garden, we went outside to meet them.  They came into the house and everyone was holding her and everything.  The next few day's were nearly the same. People were dropping in to see her and saying she was gorgeous and all.   Ever since I found out Louise had problems, I've loved her even more. I wouldn't change her for the world.  Thank you God for her.

Mir – that is such a good account of your first hours with your new sister! Well written – and well done on all the nappy changing you’re doing!
You should get the others to write their story too – it’ll be lovely to read them to Louise when she’s old enough.
